Infants aged 0-6 months can consider using gentle and moisturizing care products. For infants and young children aged 6-36 months, in addition to gentle moisturizing, the cleaning effect should also be considered. The frequency and time of bathing for infants and young children should be determined according to individual needs, combined with different seasons and environments. Usually, bathing once a day or every other day is sufficient, and mild and less stimulating bathing and shampoo products should be selected. Within 5 minutes after bathing, infant skin care products should be applied to the whole body, once every 12 hours or as needed, and different moisturizing products should be selected according to the dryness of the infant's skin, season, environment, etc.
② Sunscreen products:
For newborns, there is less demand for outdoor activities. Infants under 6 months old have delicate skin and a higher ratio of body surface area to weight. Applying sunscreen products is more likely to cause adverse reactions. Therefore, it is not advisable to use sunscreen products and should avoid going out during the period of direct sunlight exposure (from 10am to 2pm daily). If you need to go out, try to use physical coverings such as hats, umbrellas, and light colored cotton clothing to protect yourself from the sun. For infants and young children aged 6 months and above to 2 years old, clothing should still be used as the main sunscreen. Physical sunscreen products with SPF10 or PA+can also be used, and cream products are recommended. Infants and young children over 2 years old can choose physical sunscreen products with SPF15, PA+, or PA++, but cream products are still recommended.
Precautions for choosing children's cosmetics
1. It is recommended to purchase children's cosmetics from formal and legal channels. When purchasing, attention should be paid to whether the Chinese name or visible packaging clearly indicates that it is suitable for children and whether there is a "Little Golden Shield" logo for children's cosmetics.
2. Due to the small amount of infant and toddler care products used each time, in addition to paying attention to the shelf life, small packaging products should also be purchased as much as possible when purchasing.
3. After purchase, you can log in to the website of the National Medical Products Administration (www.nmpa. gov.cn) or the mobile app "Cosmetics Supervision" to check whether the label information of the purchased cosmetics is consistent with its product registration or filing information. If it is not consistent, the product quality is questionable.
4. Cosmetics should be used according to the instructions indicated on the label. When children use a cosmetic product for the first time, they can choose to try it in small amounts or topically. If your baby experiences discomfort after using children's cosmetics, you should immediately stop using the product and pay attention to observation. If the symptoms still do not improve, please seek medical attention in a timely manner.
Before each use of children's cosmetics, observe for discoloration, oil-water separation, or mold growth, smell for any odor, and store the product properly.
